Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga's administration is facing online criticism over AI-generated images of a new hospital, Pulse Live Kenya reported on Saturday. The governor posted an update on her social media accounts about a hospital block still under construction. She called the project one of her achievements and said it would improve healthcare in the county.

The official Homa Bay County X account also shared the images. Social media users quickly noticed that the pictures were made with artificial intelligence (AI). Some had obvious flaws. According to Pulse Live Kenya, some images show people with three legs. Others show legs twisted unnaturally or facing backwards, and body proportions that look visibly off.

Many users joked about it. One user, @philkan87, noted that the building was a surgical unit. He suggested the three-legged patient was going in to have one leg removed.

Others turned to the governor's track record. Pulse Live Kenya described Wanga as a close ally of President William Ruto. Some users compared her with governors seen as top performers, including Kimani Wamatangi of Kiambu and Irungu Kang'ata of Murang'a. They said those governors open finished projects rather than launch new ones.

One user accused Wanga of breaking ground on a project she would not finish and using it as a campaign tool. Another said that launching a project is not the same as completing one.

Users also revisited older projects, Pulse Live Kenya reported. These included a water kiosk the governor launched and a two-door pit latrine that users said cost Sh500,000. The report does not include any response from the governor or the county government.
