Trust is everything we have. These are the rules we follow every day.
Accuracy
We report facts we can verify, from sources we name. When sources disagree, we say so.
Sources
We rely on news agencies, official documents and reputable outlets, and we link to them in every story.
Independence
Our editors decide what we publish. Owners, advertisers and partners do not.
Fairness
We give the relevant sides of a story and avoid loaded labels. We report on private individuals only when there is a clear public interest.
Sensitive stories
We take extra care with stories about elections, ethnicity, religion, violence and children. We do not publish material that incites hatred or violence.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so at the end of the story, with the date. Spotted an error? Write to hello@dondoo.co.ke.
Code of conduct
We follow the Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism in Kenya, set out in the Media Council Act, 2013.
