Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has a new political home. He launched the Forum for Economic Development Agenda (FEDA) on Friday at Ufangamano House in Nairobi, The Eastleigh Voice reported. Lenku was installed as party leader. Citizen Digital also reported the launch.

Political aspirants, party officials and supporters from different parts of the country attended. Speakers described FEDA as a platform for marginalised communities. They urged young people to join. One leader said that people from any community can be marginalised.

Records from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, cited by The Eastleigh Voice, show that FEDA received its certificate on August 14, 2026, under serial number 110. Its registered headquarters are at FEDA House No. 75, Mbagathi Ridge, off Bogani Road, Karen, Nairobi. The party's slogan is "Build Economy, Better Life".

The launch marks a major shift for Lenku. He had earlier threatened to lead a mass exit of Maa leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He cited disagreements with the party's leadership and its political arrangements in Kajiado County.

ODM Secretary General Catherine Omanyo had challenged Lenku to leave if he was unhappy with the leadership. She accused him of biting the hand that fed him. She said ODM handed him its Kajiado governor ticket without a competitive nomination, and he then turned on the party. Omanyo said that if he wanted to leave, he should go alone and not drag the rest of the community with him.

Lenku is nearing the end of his second and final term as governor. He has said he is interested in contesting the Kajiado Senate seat in the 2027 General Election. The sources do not say whether ODM has responded to the launch.
