Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto, has shared moments from a family gathering held to bless her before her wedding. The Star reported that her mother, aunties and close family friends attended. Charlene called the event "The Mother's Blessing".
According to The Star, the women prayed for her future marriage, guided her, gave her gifts and celebrated her. In her post, Charlene said they had "blessed my future marriage, prayed for me, loved on me, gifted me and guided me on how to invest in my life and family." She also thanked her mother. "Thank you, Mama, for being my prayer warrior and biggest cheerleader all my life," she wrote.
The blessing is the latest in a run of pre-wedding events. On Tuesday, Pulse Live Kenya reported on her bridal shower, an outdoor party held in a garden. A large arched mirror at the entrance read "Welcome to Charlene's Bridal Shower" in pink.
Charlene wore a sleeveless silver-white mini dress with a fitted bodice and a flared skirt. Her guests followed a dress code heavy on pink, from blush and rose to fuchsia and coral. A canopy strung with fairy lights covered a long dining table set with pink floral centrepieces. On social media, Charlene wrote that she was "grateful that the amazing women I have done life with over the years chose to celebrate me in my new season." Tuko News reported that her sister Stephanie, who is rarely seen in public, also attended.
On Thursday, Pulse Live Kenya reported that Charlene had given a sneak peek of her wedding gown and cathedral-length veil. She showed them at a fitting with her mother, Rachel Ruto.
Tuko News has also published video of what it described as white wedding preparations in Tanzania. The outlet reported that Tanzanians had welcomed Charlene ahead of the ceremony. Earlier, her fiancé Isaya Yunge shared romantic photos of the couple, Tuko reported. The sources do not give a date for the wedding.
