The Communications Authority of Kenya detected 44.95 million brute-force attacks between July and September, up 85.41 per cent. Web application attacks rose 57.62 per cent to 27.44 million, the Daily Nation reported.
Cyber attacks on Kenyan government systems rose sharply in the three months to September, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has warned. Cloud service providers were also heavily targeted, the regulator said, according to the Daily Nation.
The CA detected 44.95 million brute-force attacks between July and September, an increase of 85.41 per cent. It also recorded 27.44 million web application attacks, up 57.62 per cent.
Government systems and internet service providers were the main targets of web application attacks during the period, the Daily Nation reported.
The regulator said the surge exposed weaknesses in the targeted systems. It warned that these gaps could compromise sensitive records and disrupt online public services.
