Zuchu's fans are asking whether dancer Ashurey has fallen out with the Wasafi singer, Tanzania's Mwananchi newspaper reports. The paper says the two were once close but now appear to have drifted apart. Neither Ashurey nor Zuchu commented in the report.
Ashurey has been part of the Wasafi camp for a long time, Mwananchi says. The dancer has appeared at the label's big events, stayed close to Zuchu and performed at Diamond Platnumz's shows.
The questions began with Zuchu's big summer. On July 30, 2026, she revealed her pregnancy with maternity photos and baby scans. On July 31, she held a baby shower at her home in Mbezi Beach. On August 2, she gave birth to a daughter with Diamond Platnumz. Fans noticed that Ashurey did not appear at any of these moments, the paper reports.
Ashurey has also reportedly removed the Wasafi name or logo from a social media bio. Mwananchi says this has raised questions about the dancer's place in the group. The paper adds that a bio change alone does not prove Ashurey has left the label. Only Ashurey can clarify it, it says.
The dancer was also absent from Diamond's music trip to Uganda at the end of October 2026. Ashurey is closely linked to Diamond's performances. Fans therefore asked whether the dancer had other duties or whether the touring team had changed.
Fans have also spotted Ashurey's absence from dance challenges for Zuchu's songs. One example is her new track "Kucheza Unaju" featuring DeSmile. It drew heavy fan participation through a dance challenge.
Mwananchi says some fans have debated Ashurey's dance style with Diamond on stage. Others have asked why Ashurey gets that spot ahead of other dancers. The paper also cites reports that Ashurey taught dancer Lilsoso before introducing Lilsoso to the scene. Lilsoso now keeps appearing around Wasafi. Fans wonder whether the dance team has simply grown or whether roles have changed.
