Reverend Kathy Kiuna has spoken openly about the grief of losing her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna. Pulse Live Kenya reported that she called living without him one of the hardest experiences of her life. The Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder shared her thoughts in an emotional social media post on Monday.

Kathy described bereavement as unlike any other hardship. She said couples can get through tough times together, but death leaves the surviving partner to carry on alone. "Sometimes it hurts so bad. I think losing a loved one is one of the most painful situations one can ever encounter," she wrote.

She said fighting through problems is easier when two people face them as a team. Every struggle, she added, makes a couple stronger. But that changes once a partner is gone. "When they are gone, they are gone," she wrote. She ended the post by urging people to treasure their loved ones, make great memories and not take each other for granted.

The couple were married for nearly three decades. A biography of Bishop Allan published by JCC says they met in December 1993 and married in December 1994. In 1999 they founded Jubilee Christian Church. It started with a congregation in Parklands, Nairobi, and later spread to other locations. The couple often appeared together at church events and raised three children.

Bishop Allan was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. During his illness, Kathy openly shared parts of his treatment. She described the hair loss, weight changes and trouble walking he experienced during chemotherapy. In 2022 he travelled to the United States for further treatment.

In December 2023, he announced at a thanksgiving service that he was cancer-free. Seven months later, on July 9, 2024, he died while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital. He was 57. According to Pulse Live Kenya, Kathy reflected in September 2026 on how their Christian faith had helped the couple through difficult periods in their marriage.
