The Kenya Meteorological Department has published its forecast for November 2026. Ghafla reported that the agency expects above-average rainfall in most parts of the country. Tuko reported that 44 counties face a wet month and that temperatures are expected to rise.
The pattern will vary across the country. Ghafla reported that parts of Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Baringo and West Pokot should get near-average to above-average rainfall. The reports give no rainfall totals or temperature figures for individual counties.
Rwanda is also expecting a wet month. According to The New Times, the Rwanda Meteorology Agency forecasts between 85 and 350mm of rain in November. The usual November range is 76 to 278mm. The first 20 days should be wetter than usual. Rainfall in the last 10 days should return to normal levels.
The heaviest rain, between 250 and 350mm, is forecast for parts of Nyamagabe, Nyamasheke and Karongi districts. Parts of Rusizi and Nyaruguru should get similar amounts. Eastern Province, the City of Kigali and most of Southern Province should see rain only slightly above their usual November averages.
Some areas will stay warm despite the rain. Daytime highs of 28°C to 30°C are expected in Bugesera, parts of Kigali and several Eastern Province districts. Parts of Musanze and Nyabihu should be cooler, at 20°C to 22°C. Night and early-morning temperatures could drop to between 10°C and 12°C in some highland districts.
Winds of four to 12 metres per second are forecast across Rwanda. The strongest, at eight to 12 metres per second, are expected in parts of Karongi, Rubavu, Bugesera and other districts. Meteo Rwanda advised people to follow guidance from the ministry in charge of emergency management to limit damage from strong winds and heavier rain.
