Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick on Thursday as Al-Nassr beat Al-Kholood 5-3 in the Saudi Pro League. The match was level at 2-2 at half-time. Ronaldo then scored three times in 15 minutes to settle it, according to the BBC and Tanzania's Mwananchi.
Mwananchi reported that the Portugal forward scored in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes. Angelo Gabriel and Sadio Mane had scored Al-Nassr's first-half goals. For Al-Kholood, Antoin Essomba scored once and Julien Domingues twice, the paper said.
Ronaldo's Portugal teammate Joao Felix provided four assists, two of them for Ronaldo's goals, the BBC reported. The BBC said it was the 67th hat-trick of Ronaldo's career. Seven have come for Al-Nassr, 44 for Real Madrid, 10 for Portugal and three each for Manchester United and Juventus.
The sources give different career totals. The BBC said the hat-trick took Ronaldo to 985 career goals. Mwananchi put the figure at 984 and said he needs 16 more to reach 1,000. By the paper's count, Ronaldo has scored 450 goals for Real Madrid, 146 for Portugal, 145 for Manchester United, 138 for Al-Nassr, 101 for Juventus and five for Sporting CP.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has won league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He is the all-time top scorer in men's international football, the BBC noted. He has spent almost four years at Al-Nassr and has one year left on his contract.
In August, Ronaldo hinted at retirement, saying this was "probably" his last year playing, according to the BBC. Al-Nassr are the defending Saudi champions. They sit second in the table, with a game in hand on leaders Al-Qadsiah.
