Energy sector stakeholders from more than 40 countries will gather in Nairobi next month for Powerelec Kenya 2026, The Standard reported. The international solar and energy exhibition runs for three days, from November 10 to 12, at the Sarit Expo Centre.
The exhibition will focus on technology transfer, business partnerships and market expansion. It covers renewable energy, energy storage, electrical engineering and electric mobility. Manufacturers, distributors, investors and trade delegations will show new clean energy technologies. These include solar panels, battery systems, power generation equipment and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Sungrow returns as principal sponsor, and Huawei Digital Power is headline sponsor, according to The Standard. Sigenergy and JA Solar are diamond sponsors. Gadgetronix, Power & Sun and Growatt are among the gold sponsors.
A free conference of eight sessions will run alongside the exhibition. It will cover regional energy transitions and infrastructure development. The programme opens on November 10 with a plenary session. It then moves to digitalisation, decarbonisation and battery storage in a segment called "Future of Energy is Storage".
The second day will turn to clean energy financing in a session titled "The Age of Green Capital". A CEO Forum on women leading Kenya's energy sector will follow. On the final day, the Utility Masters' Forum will look at Kenya's major energy infrastructure projects. A session on the country's e-mobility growth will close the event.
The Standard reported that industry players see cooperation between technology providers, policymakers and investors as key to faster infrastructure development in the region. The Electricity Sector Association of Kenya, the Kenya Renewable Energy Association and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry are backing the event. Entry to the exhibition and the conference is free with registration.
