Liquor traders in Nairobi have asked Governor Johnson Sakaja's administration to explain an alleged KSh 100,000 levy, Business Today Kenya reported on Thursday. The charge would apply to businesses that sell alcoholic drinks through online shopping and delivery platforms.

According to the outlet, the proposed charge has worried traders. They say they already pay county licensing fees. They also point to running costs such as rent, salaries and stock.

The report did not include a response from the county government. Nor did it say when the levy would take effect or how it would be collected.
