The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has lost its bid to take a KSh 25 million compensation case to the Supreme Court. The Daily Nation reported on Wednesday that the Court of Appeal had rejected the military's request to pursue a further appeal. The award went to Moses Etyang, a former soldier.

The Nation called the ruling another setback for the military in its fight against the award. The decision leaves the compensation order in place.

The case began with disciplinary proceedings against Etyang while he served in the military. The dispute later moved to court. There, two questions became central: whether the disciplinary process was legal, and how Etyang was treated.

The available report does not give the date of the ruling, the names of the judges or the court's reasons for refusing the further appeal. It also does not say whether the KDF plans any other legal step.
